Air Conditioner in your clothing - Cool

 In view of the recent hot weather wouldn't it be great to have your own personal portable air conditioner built into your clothing.


Futuristic Japanese designers thought air conditioned clothing would be a good idea too, especially since there is a power shortage in Japan following the Fukushima nuclear plant disasters.

BBM6 (BlackBerry Messenger 6) Research In Motion's (RIM) mobile messaging and chat app was released today.  Key new feature is the ability to chat from within open applications eg gaming, social, workflows etc.  BBM6 also enables users to easily share applications with friends via the profile panel.

HBO will be airing Game of Thrones Season 2, Spring 2012.  Season 2 will be based on the second book of the Song of Ice and Fire Series  - A Clash of Kings by George R R Martin



Although brief the Trailer does hint that Fire will feature strongly in the story line.

If you need to lower the volume quickly on your Bell TV PVR satellite receiver.  Either Press the mute button on the remote control OR if you need the volume lowered for an extended length of time (ie to take a phone call) Press the Pause button.

Galaxie Channel Playlists

If you subscribe to the Galaxie Music Channels, located Channel 901 to 945 in the Bell TV satellite online program guide and also have access to the internet you can see what tune or song will be played next.


 Surf to The Galaxie channel playlist select Bell from the provider field, then the channel you are watching from the drop down list and you will see what is currently playing, what will be played next as well as what songs have already played.


BONUS - Galaxie Music Channels are continuous music channels ie. No commercials or interruptions.

Historic Space Date 20th July

20th July 1969 -  Apollo 11's lunar module Eagle, which had separated from the command module carried a crew of two down to the lunar surface. 


While Michael Collins waited in the command module, Neil Armstrong and Edwin E "Buzz" Aldrin landed on the moon.  Mission control were told by Neil Armstrong "The Eagle has Landed."

Back on Earth the world watched and waited. At 10.56 pm EST, (2.56 GMT) Neil Armstrong became the first human to step on the moon and said the historic words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."   


At 11.11pm EST "Buzz" Aldrin joined Armstrong and together, following the tradition of centuries of explorers, they planted a flag, the US flag.


It is fitting then that 20th july 2011 sees the return of Space Shuttle Atlantis marking the end of the NASA Space Shuttle Flight Program and lunar missions.

Channels are in Red in the online Guide

Is your Bell TV satellite Receiver is showing channels that you subscribe to, in red, in the online program guide.  To get the subscribed channels to reset use one of two methods :

Press and hold the Power button located on front of your receiver for at least 8 seconds.
This should reset the guide.

Synchronize your programming online by Log into your Bell Account and then following the onscreen instructions.

Last Space Shuttle Program Flight - Final shuttle Atlantis

Today ends 30 years of service for NASA's fleet of space shuttles.  The last space shuttle Altantis which has already had 9 successful flights. was going to be decommissioned in 2008 but on inspection was given clearance to continue missions. The first space shuttle, Columbia launched 12th  Aprtil 1981. 

At 9 July 2011 Space Shuttle Atlantis will embark on her final space mission.  The Kennedy Space Center iCape Canaveral launch is scheduled for 11.26 am ET. The crew are on a 12 day mission to deliver supplies, parts  and a docking module to the  the International Space Station (ISS).  The shuttle will also be taking the first iPhone into orbit.

Atlantis flight STS 135 has a crew of 4  -  Commander Chris Ferguson,  pilot Doug Hurley,  mission specialistists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim.

Altlantis first flight was 3rd October 1985,  her last will be the 33rd flight. The final mission of NASA's Space Shuttle Program will be the 135th mission.

Altlantis is due to land back on Earth JUly 20th 2011 at 7.06 am 
ET.
