Plasma, LCD, LED, Panels, Screens and tVs

There is still confusion between plasma, LCD, panels, screens and tv.  Comparing price for each size can help with your purchase decision.  Models that include a tuner and built in speakers usually are more expensive, will pick up over the air signals and will handle other media types (DVD, CDs, Game Consoles).

If the product you are looking at does not state tv in the product description it is very likely that it does not contain a tv tuner.  If there is no tuner it will not be possible to pick up off the air tv signals..

If the model you are looking at does not include a tuner  ie Panel,  Screen or  Monitor an external source such as a Bell TV Receiver, set top box or a pc tuner card will be necessary to pick up and relay the output of a  tv signal.

Plasma refers to the display type - Gas is used to light the pixels
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) - Uses backlighting to illuminate the pixels.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) - Uses backlighting to illuminate the pixels for High Definition content display.
